Week 7: Good Weather & Eats

Seven weeks in Korea! During this week the weather was actually the most perfect. So I went out to eat and walk around a lot. I went to walk around Yeonnam where spring was truly in bloom as the streets were lined with cherry blossoms, tulips, and magnolias galore. I also went to Seongsu where I went to do a little shopping with friends.

In addition to the beautiful weather and spending time walking around, I also ate so well this week, finally hitting up so many of the places I was seeing all over TikTok. I went to go eat greek yogurt bowls at Dotori Gardens, had some amazing pasta at a western food place called Hey George, toasted my own bread over a grill at a cafe called Moment Coffee, and ate more delicious Western food at Seongsu Darak. Overall, it was a very chill but fun week.

Week 8: Biking Around Hangang & Hair Cut

Week eight in Korea and I did something that I haven’t done in years. I went biking for the first time in years. I went biking to Yeouido Hangang Park which is a super popular activity to do however I crashed multiple times…oops. In all honesty, I was so scared to bike especially since we had to bike over a bridge that was next to a road, definitely thought I was going to fall off the bridge or go into the road. But overall it was so much fun, the sun was setting and once we go to an actual bike path where I could take my time biking and had a lot of space I was able to enjoy my time getting to bike around the Yeouido area and Hangang.

I also experienced my first Korean beauty experience and went to a Korean hair salon. I went to a really famous one online called Soonsiki, where I got a hair cut and scalp care. In all honesty I don’t really know what the scalp care did for me but it was super relaxing and my hair looked and felt really clean and healthy. I also really enjoyed the experience, I was given a goodie bag of things I could use at the salon. I also was given a drink and snacks which was different and felt more fancy then when I get my hair cut back in Hawaii. Overall, 10/10 experience and it was super affordable to get all of it done which was even better!
